Any idea on how I might convince my very sweet wife that the best place to spend your 40th wedding anniversary is at a Cougar wrecking yard with a bunch of Cougarholics?
We spent our 30th on a 2 1/2 week driving trip to the big Cougar event in Dearborn last year. I managed the situation by allowing her to pick any destination she wanted for a second anniversary celebration later in the year. I got lucky because she picked Monterey, CA and not Australia, France, or someplace like that.

Just so interested Cougar enthusiasts are aware, I was speaking with Clive from WCCC to try to get an open weekend for the WCCC open house.
Not to pick on you, Scott..but nobody's mentioned yet, and a couple posts today are calling Cleve "Clive" lol..

I've heard many times that I am perfect (Heather says I talk to myself), so I must blame the spell check for this.

More details out now! Here's a more complete blurb:

Join us for two days of classic Cougar fun! Please RSVP here: https://www.getfeedback.com/r/oajCSO4C

We're opening our doors on Friday, July 13 for anyone who wants to make the pilgrimage to WCCC, the world's premiere supplier of classic Mercury Cougar parts. Bring your '67-'73 Cougar to show off, get helpful advice, and find any parts you may need. Lunch and dinner will be provided (details TBD). At the end of the day, we'll have a short cruise to the Willamette Valley Pie Co. for some delicious dessert.

On Saturday, July 14, we'll meet at WCCC in the morning, hang out for a little bit, and then cruise to Silverton, OR for lunch. There are several places to choose from in the quaint little downtown area. After lunch, the cruise will continue to Silver Falls State Park. This is one of the most beautiful slices of Oregon, home to a 7.2 mile hiking loop with 10 waterfalls. We'll be parking in a large parking lot near the South Falls, an easy-to-access 177-foot waterfall that you can walk behind. Note that there is a $5 day use fee. Finally, after we're done there, we'll cruise to Brian Aust's place in the country for a dinner BBQ. Brian's place has become a staple of the WCCC Open House event, and is a great spot for sunset photos of your car.

We hope to see you here!

I was hoping you would schedule that for this weekend while I was here in Portland. Just kidding of course. I'm thinking I got to take the wife hiking at those falls! Maybe I can talk Brian into letting me see that nice cougar as well.

There are probably a lot of reasons for the selected date, but if there was one wish, I wish it was on First Friday so you could flood the Silverton First Friday car show with Cougars...... That would be entertaining! The Flywheels wouldn't see it coming...haha. Maybe next year. :D

Well Bill, you two are probably amongst the favorites ever to stay at our Summertime B&B so I can promise a shower of hospitality, tea, crumpets, scones..use of an old footbath/massager up in the racks of the shop..whatever it takes! ;)

Brian, I feel bad that we didn’t offer you the foot massage, but Heather said she was not willing to rub you and your dad’s feet. One or the other, but not both.

Gee...did you inquire about one foot on each person? Might work...

I don't know how we could ever find a better place to stay! We really had a great time. I will keep working on Debbie.
