LOL there never were any exhaust manifolds with holes in them for the air pump. I think you meant cylinder heads?

Yep! You are so right. No longer a GT, for '69 it was the 390IP. No Holley, no S code manifold and exhaust manifolds with out holes in them for the air pump. I think I have been looking at too many 428s

Wow, what a time capsule! Not even the bare steel parts under the hood have surface rust on them. Amazing. Great as a reference for originality, but you couldn't really drive it :(

Autolite is correct, Motorcraft would be the service replacement in years to come.

A Motorcraft carb? Are you sure about that? My understanding was that the Motorcraft name was not even put into use until sometime in 1972

I stand corrected. I know it was not a Holley on it, as I had a 69 390 in an earlier life.

Drivers side mirror? Thought all XR7's had the bullet painted body color with a chrome base?

I wish the pictures were taken in better lighting conditions. Why does this have the chrome valve covers and air cleaner lid? My 69 original 390 has painted. Interesting to see the different placement of the inspection stickers compared to my Cougar. I wounder what the build date is on this Cougar. The Marti report would be nice to see. Might make a nice day trip to look at it. At that price I don't think it's selling anytime soon.

I talked to the guy, car has only had the top down twice, always climate controlled, second owner. He is one of my customers and has added the SS wheels and some chrome bits. The reason it has a chrome mirror is it was a special order paint and only stock colors did they have painted mirrors on hand for. Car was sold soon after listed with back up buyers in que.
