Wouldn’t different plants have used sheet metal from different places?

Can anyone provide insight regarding what the two different plants date code stamps may look like? It's also likely that one stamping plant (of the several that stamp items like trunk hinges, etc) provided part to both plants.

That would be a good one for the Concours Mustang Forum. Tooling would have been developed in the same place for most parts, very few differences from what I have observed. Service replacement parts show the most noticeable changes such as the 69-70 fenders being visibly stamped HECHO EN MEXICO. The most obvious visual differences are in the assembly with different fasteners being used, different inspection marks, buck tags and the like.
