Re: XR7-G Book

I'm sure it will be another find work by Don Skinner. It will be added to my library.

Re: Underhood light wiring details

I think that clip is for the wiper harness. If the wire for the light has one it will clip to the shock tower brace on the passengers side.

Re: Running issue 351C 2V

i did a lot today including talking to Brian, the mechanic who rebuilt the engine. He said he can look at it next Tuesday. Much faster then the shop I had my Ranger's engine replaced at. They are out to the 27th of May. The carb was rebuilt at the time of the engine rebuild. I found the coil was not...

Re: Running issue 351C 2V

This morning I checked the vacuum line going to the transmission modulator. Visually and with my mighty vac. It holds vacuum as it should. I did find the little section of hose I was using to plug the pore the air cleaner goes to was not holding vacuum, but it was not directly liking. So I checked t...

Re: Underhood light wiring details

From my original 70 wireing diagram set https://farm1.staticflickr.com/971/40024017710_e83ca98249_k.jpg Close up, really not a lot of help IMHO. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/824/27962445628_22a402e604_k.jpg As I recall the wire runs along the shock tower brace to the fire wall and then in to the h...

Running issue 351C 2V

As many of you know I just got my 71 on the road. But it is not running well. It seems to run fine when not in gear. It will rev smoothly and sounds good. But put it in gear and it has a lot of hesitation and will back fire through the carb. I checked the timing and dwell, checked to make sure the t...

Re: Have you driven your Cougar today?

Most of you know I was able to take this one out yesterday after getting the front suspension aligned. First time on the road for it since at least 1992. https://farm1.staticflickr.com/972/40867333085_d80daed2e4_k.jpg More road trips soon. I need to do some adjustments to get it running the way it s...

Can you put up a '71 schematic? I think we can look at it and find the wire that supplies power after the switch is shut off.
I do have one. But this afternoon they started parking correctly. Funny things happen with old cars.

Re: Wipers will not park...

Any place they want, basically where ever they are when I turn the switch to off. If I use the intermittent feature they will stop at the bottom of the travel though.
