Re: 1972 Q code 4 speed car with air

According to "Cougar, by the Numbers", there were 66 Standard hard tops with the "Q" code and 4 speeds. but he did not state how many 72 GT's were built. It will be a rare combination. I would recommend getting the expensive Elite report. It will brake it down much further then anybody can using the...

Re: Will the real Blue paint please step forward !

Such a great color! It looked especially good on the '72 Pinto wagon that's on the paint reference page Mike B linked to. Funny you would mention that. I had one. The turbine wheels I put on it helped make it look even better. If it only would have had some real power... Edit, after looking...

Re: Will the real Blue paint please step forward !

Especially after the 1970 model year. You should be able to find a color chart for your model year to compare the co...

I usually do engine first transmission second... I may need to switch that around and give it a try.
I too may have to try it this way.

Have you tried using Windex or some other soap on them to make them slippery?

Original owner must have been planning a lot of long distance driving. Not much else in the option mix out of the ordinary. I hope you find her a good home.

Re: Wide wheels and tyres on a 69 convert.

I have 235/60 15s on the front of 2 of my 70s. I have no problems with rubbing... Neal, Wonder why the 235/60-15 rubs the front fenders on our 69 XR7. If you're having no problems, I must be missing something. Could the strut rods on our Cougar be adjusted with the lower control arms too far forwar...

Re: Wide wheels and tyres on a 69 convert.

I have 235/60 15s on the front of 2 of my 70s. I have no problems with rubbing. One has 245/60 15s and the other has 255/60 15s on the back. I have 15X7s in front and 15X8s in back on both. One has reproduction 66/67 Mustang SS wheels and the other has 5 spook mag wheels.
