Re: 427 Side oiler block "C7"

Bill --

Do they have the heads too? If so, can you ask if there's a partial vin number stamped on the end of the head(s)? Thanks.

Re: Red GT-E - Mecum Indy - May 2018

Kerry -- Thanks for the response in our discussion of these issues. First, I was not attempting (until today) to determine the accuracy of the assumption that the dash tag was riveted from the factory. As far as I was concerned the fact that it was required by law was definitive. So much so, that if...

Re: Red GT-E - Mecum Indy - May 2018

Kerry -- Hold the phone here coach -- this car has not had "a flag" in the Registry or the Master Record since Rob and Bart photographed the sheet metal date codes and the apron vin numbers etc. to remove the open questions concerning the car. Next you indicate that you are "not popular with you", m...

Re: Red GT-E - Mecum Indy - May 2018

Gary -- The question of whether the dash tag on '68s were installed at the factory with either rivets or screws is still an open question. We are researching this issue. I cannot find in the assembly manuals where it indicates the proper fasteners for the dash vin tag -- it may be published somewher...

Re: Found the title to my first cat!

It wasn't on the national database, but it will be now, thanks. When you get the Marti, if you wouldn't mind sharing, please post a copy here.

Re: Red GT-E - Mecum Indy - May 2018

cobrasc427 -- Well you are certainly correct I don't everything about the cars, that's for sure. Wish I did. One of the things I don't know is the current email address for every owner of record. I can poll those that I do know the address for, if I don't have a picture of the rear of their car whic...

cobrasc427 -- Oops I finally saw where you asked about the former Henderson, NV 428 that was sold and is now in Ohio. I do not know the status of its restoration.

Re: Red GT-E - Mecum Indy - May 2018

cobrasc427 -- They only other Cougar that I've seen (have pictures of) that has the taillight lens bars is the HFII 7S car. Without engineering or casting numbers for the bars (which as far as I can determine are neither listed nor pictured in the Master Parts Catalog) I don't believe they made Many...
