Re: 68 XR7 interior refresh Part - 2

If you’re looking for correct wood grain decals there are none. Critter Creek Cougars will vacuum plate the bezels for you, but he’s extremely expensive IMO. I have a place bookmarked on my office computer that seemed reasonable, but I haven’t used them so I can’t vouch for the work. If you like I’l...

Whether it's 100% correct or not, I like the Trim Black. Nice rich smooth black that contrasts well with chrome.

I agree Andrew, it looks nice on everything I’ve seen it on. But sometimes being correct is the criteria.

Re: GRILLE AND BEZEL PAINTING

I’ve been working on some of these parts recently. I think I agree with Royce’s assessment that SEM Trim Black is a bit too matte. I bought some SEM Black semi-gloss but I’m not sure yet whether I’m happy with that choice. It seems like what would be most correct is something in between.

Bill, do you reproduce the C8OE-B fan ?
Yes I’m pretty sure that’s the one he was referring to.

Re: SMS Door Panels - my experience

You should have got your boss to chip in and got the molds made for the correct trim. New panels would be a great item for WCCC to offer. They look really nice.

Re: Detailing the Engine Compartment.

A question for the more experienced. Is there a way to simulate the original finish on the fan blades without actually dipping it? Seems like I would need a lot of paint to do it the factory way. Maybe spray it on fairly thick and let it run a tiny bit? Or is that going to look half-fast?

I too could not sit through the entire video but look how many hits it has got in one day! My video has been up for years and has 41k kits, his has been up for a day and has thousands more. Guess I just work on charisma a little.

Re: 427 v. 428

Are we going back in time to choose knowing what we do now? I guess I am asking more about “back in the day” stock motor as produced by the factory (unless back in the day you would have bought it for immediate modification). I am not asking about collectibility or value now, I am asking if you wer...
