Re: What is this called? And how hard is it to remove?

I've had mine out a few times for different reasons. It comes out easy. Getting the screws to line back up with the holes when installing it back is the tricky part. Don't laugh...But I never have a helper. I held a mini flashlight in my mouth so I could use both hands to hold it up in place, and us...

Re: Replace rag joint with u joint on tilt column

Yes it was tighter especially since my rag joint was actually off the Toyota to fit that box, and I modified it. My skills have come a long way since then.

Re: Replace rag joint with u joint on tilt column

In a straight shot there shouldn't be a problem. Only if you are having to make a bend. The reason that I mentioned it is that a hot rod that I have been helping with required a pretty goofy looking extension to reach around the exhaust and to the steering rack and we had to add an additional u joi...

Re: Replace rag joint with u joint on tilt column

I don't have tilt, and I also don't have a Borgenson box. Instead I swapped in a Toyota integral steering box. This was done back in the early 90s. At the time I had to slightly mod the original rag joint to make it all work. That set-up was on the car until three years ago and 30,000 miles. Not a s...

Re: The Snowball Saga - '68 Standard Revitalization Project

I don't have too much experience with PPG stuff other than their 2K filler primer that I used under the House of Kolor on the Hero. What I can say is this: Paint is the very first thing that people will notice about ANY car. I was torn between the middle of the road products and stepping up to the h...

Ditto on the flex fans. I had a blade come apart and pierce the radiator on my 74 Ford Elite.

Re: Which black?

I used SEM Semi-gloss on everything up front. It's really durable with correct prep. I didn't care about doing the bulb surrounds a different shade since they're only open when it's dark out.
