That is for the door ajar light. It is connected to the switch on the door latch (if equipped)

Hi Jeff, Here is a basic diagram of the drivers door showing the wiring harness location. Not all of the harness is in the housing. It's held in place with 3 screws. And yes, if you have the remote mirror, it did have a cable clip mounted up under the door edge to hold the cable out of the way so it...

Bill,
Don't have info on the screw, but the nut is a self-threading hex flange w/sealer.
7/16 hex & 1/4 thread. Maybe this will help you locate the screw.

You are correct. It uses 2 steel washers on either side. See this diagram for details. The steel washers
are 3/8", .395 id and 1.00 od and ,080 thk
