Re: Loose door mirror glass in my ‘68

Removing the screw shown in your photo will separate the mirror head from the base. If you do not have a remote control mirror you will then be holding the head in your hand and may be able to find a way to repair it. If you do have a remote control mirror then the control cables will only allow you...

Re: 64-67 Mustang Glass

And if I recall correctly the 67-8 Mustang fastback door glass is different from the coupe/convertible door glass.

Thanks Kerry. I will check out the links when I get a chance. Not any more tonight though, it's time to call it a day.

Re: 67 gt

Yes, the Cougar emblem is supposed to be on the right side headlight door. Given the other changes done to this car I would guess that the emblem was removed with the thought that it produced a cleaner look. This would be an easy fix if you want to go back to a stock look. You could replace the whol...

Re: Tinted Glass

Some windshields just have a blue band of tint across the top of it, about 3-4 inches wide. Full tinted glass will have the SUN-X mark on it. If the paperwork for a car says TINTED GLASS then that would be all the glass, including the windshield.

Re: Paint color

That measurement would make it a 1969 rear spoiler. The part number on the mirror is for a 1969 Torino. Many people have said that the 1969 Torino mirror will work on the 1969-1970 Cougar. The 1970-1971 Torino mirror just fits a little better. It would be possible that Ford was test fitting the 1969...

Re: Red GT-E - Mecum Indy - May 2018

Rob, I learned a long time ago to never say never about anything to do with our Cougars, or most any older car for that matter. The factory did what they needed to do to keep production moving. Plus back in the day they were much more open to producing a car the way the customer wanted it, not how t...

Re: Wet floorboard.

Just keep your face back when you start to crack the A/C line open. If it does have much in there in can blow back into your eyes. Crack the line slowly and as soon as anything starts to come out be extra careful.

Re: Paint color

If the car was sent to engineering to be used as a test mule for fitting the upcoming Eliminator parts that could explain a lot of things. If that is the case it could explain the blue right side mirror, they might have used this car to test fit a mirror. It would be helpful to know what part number...

Re: Red GT-E - Mecum Indy - May 2018

I have parted out quite a few Cougars over the past 35 years and I do not recall ever having one with screws holding the VIN tag to the dash. Of course back in the early days I doubt that I would have paid much attention to screws even if they were there. So I do have a few questions about these car...
